The hard drive, display and other sensitive components are all protected by a magnesium-thickened case, and the hard drive is mounted in shock-absorbing polymers to help insulate against vibration and shock, helping it withstand a fall from a height of 76 cm without damage. A non-breakable plastic seal covers all vital interfaces and connections.

The keypad and touchpad are water resistant and the casing is fully impact and scratch-resistant.
